Brian Birkhofer Invades Mountaineer State
of West Virginia Following Pair of Podium Finishes!
(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer and his #15b team traveled
to the Ohio Valley over the August 27-28 weekend for two Lucas
Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns in the states of Indiana
and Kentucky. On Friday night, the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg,
Indiana played host to a $10,000 to win program. Brian ran third
in heat race action and later rolled off from the outside of the
fifth row in the 50-lap main event. In front of a huge crowd and
the cameras of the SPEED Channel, Brian charged to the front of
the field to earn a stellar runner-up performance behind only
winner Dale McDowell.
The action quickly turned to the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown,
Kentucky on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win Lucas
Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. Brian once again ran third in
his stacked heat race to earn the eleventh starting spot in the
'Bluegrass Classic.' The Muscatine, Iowa native sported another
fast racecar in the 50-lapper, as he blew past eight competitors
en route to a third place effort behind only winner Don O'Neal
and runner-up Mike Marlar. Full results from the LOLMDS doubleheader

a driver up to $60,000 in winnings. A $10,000 to win show will
headline Friday's portion of the program, while the field will
then be split in two for a pair of $20,000 to win events on Saturday.
The top eight finishers in each 50-lapper will then transfer into
a final $10,000 to win, 25-lap showdown. Additional information
