(March 30, 2014)
Birkhofer Racing opened up their 2014 campaign on Saturday evening, March 29 in the 3rd Annual 'Thaw Brawl' at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois! The UMP DIRTcar Series and American Late Model Series (ALMS) presided over the big program, which boasted a hefty $15,000 payday. Brian Birkhofer, who debuted a new Rocket racecar at the 1/4-mile bullring, laid down the fastest lap in his group during time trials prior to finishing fourth in his heat race after hitting a few holes the wrong way. The Muscatine, Iowa native then started the 75-lapper from the outside of the eighth row, but was an early victim in the attrition-filled race. Brian suffered a flat right rear tire around the halfway mark and retired in the fifteenth position. Full results from last night at LaSalle Speedway can be viewed online at www.lasallespeedway.com.
