The Birkhofer Racing team invaded the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday night, May 12 for the annual running of the 'Spring Shootout.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the one-day program at the 1/4-mile, high-banked bullring and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Brian Birkhofer laid down the fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later won his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the front row in the 50-lap feature event, Brian ran second for much of the distance before winding up a strong third in the final rundown behind only winner Don O'Neal and runner-up Jimmy Owens. Brian Birkhofer and his #15b team returned to racing action on May 4-5 in a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in the states of Illinois and Kentucky. On Friday night at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Brian ran seventh in his stacked heat race, but later grabbed the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main. After rolling off twenty-first on the grid in the 50-lap feature event, Brian was unfortunately one of the first retirees from the race and was relegated to a twenty-fifth place outing.

The dirt-slinging competition quickly shifted to the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win tilt. Brian finished fifth in heat race action, but later won the B-Main to gain access into the 50-lapper. The Muscatine, Iowa ace then started from the outside of the ninth row in the A-Main and blasted past eight competitors to finish in the tenth position. The Birkhofer Racing team found themselves in the pit area at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night, April 20. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over a $10,000 to win program at Roaring Knob and a stout field of competitors filled the pits. Brian Birkhofer ran fifth in his loaded heat race, but later won his B-Main to gain access into the 50-lap feature event. After starting seventeenth on the grid in the A-Main, the Muscatine, Iowa native moved past four competitors to finish in the thirteenth position.

Saturday's $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland was unfortunately wiped out by Mother Nature. Full results from Friday at Roaring Knob can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Brian Birkhofer trekked east over the April 13-14 weekend to compete in the 3rd Annual 'Commonwealth 100' at the Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the huge mega-event, which boasted a hefty $25,000 payday. On Friday night, Brian laid down the third fastest lap in his group during qualifying and later ran a strong second in his heat race.

When the 'Commonwealth 100' rolled off on Saturday evening, Brian found himself starting from the outside of the third row in the 100-lapper. In front of the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Muscatine, Iowa ace ran amongst the top five early in the race before the handling went away on his new-look #15b entry. The Birkhofer Racing team ventured to the Land of Lincoln on Saturday, April 7 for a stand-alone UMP DIRTcar Series event at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. A strong field of Midwestern competitors converged on the 1/4-mile bullring to vie for the $5,000 top prize. Brian Birkhofer qualified well in time trials and later ran second in heat race action. Brian Birkhofer and his #15b team kicked-off their highly-anticipated 2012 racing season on March 30-31 at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again sanctioned the annual 'Illini 100' at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds venue and a whopping $20,000 payday was on the line. Brian laid down the seventh fastest lap during the qualifying session on Friday night and later ran second in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 100-lapper, Brian dropped back a few spots early in the race before storming back towards the front of the stellar field. The Muscatine, Iowa standout eventually made it all the way up to fifth to finish behind only 'Illini 100' winner Jimmy Mars, Darrell Lanigan, Shannon Babb, and Rick Eckert.
